  67. This package contains "Visual Illustrations" computerized book v1.1 is
  68. a product of Impact D. Publishing. This document contains a brief
  69. description of the package and its features, along with instructions
  70. for its installation. This program is very user friendly and all
  71. instructions are included in the program with easily followed prompts
  72. and information screens.

  74. This computerized book of object lessons teaches spiritual lessons from
  75. a Christian perspective. This shareware version contains 10 object
  76. lessons. If you register this shareware you will receive 15 more of
  77. these powerful illustrations. That is 25 in all. Full registration
  78. instructions are given on the exit screen of the book and in the VI.EXT
  79. file.

  82. not crippled in any way. If you like the program, and wish to use the
  83. lessons in this book you are required to register the program (see

  112. ===== Installation =====================================

  114. The installation procedure for "Visual Illustrations" is quite simple.
  115. The package includes a program, "INSTALL.BAT", which automates the
  116. entire process. You will need about 180-K of available disk space on
  117. the hard drive on which you plan to install VI.
  118.  
  119. The exact steps you need to take will depend on how you received VI.
  120.  
  121.  
  122. INSTALLING FROM DISKETTES
  123.  
  124. To install from diskette(s), you need to perform the following steps.
  125.  
  126.    o  Place VI  distribution diskette in the appropriate diskette
  127.       drive.
  128.  
  129.    o  Make sure the drive where your diskette is located is the active
  130.       drive. For example, if your diskette is in drive A you will
  131.       enter A:. To run the INSTALL.BAT program enter INSTALL followed
  132.       by your hard drive letter and a colon. For example, if your hard
  133.       drive letter is C you would enter INSTALL C:.
  134.  
  135.    o  Follow the instructions presented by the installation program.
  136.       You will have a chance to approve installation before any changes
  137.       are actually made to the contents of your hard drive. The program
  138.       will copy the VI files to a directory named VI.
  139.  
  140.    o  To run the program enter VI from the VI directory. To get
  141.       Instructions on how to read the book press F1.

  144. INSTALLING FROM A HARD DRIVE
  145.  
  146. If you downloaded "Visual Illustrations" from a BBS (or received
  147. it in the form of archive files from some other source), you will need
  148. to perform the following steps.
  149.  
  150.    o  Extract the contents of the archive file(s) in a temporary
  151.       directory on your hard drive. The procedure for doing this
  152.       varies, depending on the form in which you received the package.
  153.       In all likelihood, the fact that you are reading this text means
  154.       that you already have the necessary tools and knowledge to
  155.       perform this step. If not, you should be able to obtain
  156.       directions for this from the same source from which you received
  157.       the package.

  159.    o  Execute the "INSTALL.BAT" program which you have extracted. For
  160.       example, if the temporary directory into which you have extracted
  161.       the  package is C:\TEMPDIR, you would make sure your hard
  162.       drive is the active drive. For example, if your hard drive is C
  163.       you would enter C:. Then make sure your are in the \TEMPDIR\
  164.       directory by entering CD\TEMPDIR. Then run the INSTALL.BAT
  165.       program by entering INSTALL C:.

  167.    o  Follow the instructions presented by the installation program.
  168.       You will have a chance to approve installation before any changes
  169.       are actually made to the contents of your hard drive. The program
  170.       will copy the VI files to a directory named VI.

  172. When you're satisfied that the installation was successful, you should
  173. delete the temporary directory FROM which you installed VI (C:\TEMPDIR,
  174. in the above discussion), including all its contents.
